O Dubagáin Country Crafts can trace its heritage back to the late 1940’s when Aloysius (Lou) Duggan began producing quality wooden crafts in a very humble setting in Drimnagh, County Dublin. It was very much a family enterprise with his sons and daughters assisting as the business grew.

With a strong emphasis on quality, the enterprise gained momentum and demand grew with orders from some of the well known hotels, department stores and shops of the time like Switzers, Brown Thomas, Weirs and through his friend the renowned woodcarver John Haugh, The Country Shop on St Stephens Green. Orders were also received from many other craft shops around the country.

In January 2018, David Duggan decided to change his career path and to pick up the torch lit by his grandfather. Having inherited and restored some of his grandfathers original tools, he began producing functional handcrafted wooden crafts and kitchen utensils all from native Irish hardwoods with the same emphasis on quality that his grandfather started.
